"We will be under the influence of new rainy weather starting from noon on Monday"

Abdullah Macit, a weather forecaster at the General Directorate of Meteorology within the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, spoke to an İHA reporter regarding weather forecasts. Macit stated that heavy downpours are expected in some cities, especially Istanbul, on Friday evening, according to assessments by the General Directorate of Meteorology. He said, "Heavy rain is expected in Kocaeli and Sakarya, especially in the eastern Marmara region, overnight. On Saturday, we expect rainfall across the entire Black Sea Region, the Marmara region, the Aegean region, and the entire Western Black Sea region; in Bolu, Zonguldak, especially Bartın, Kastamonu, the areas around Sinop, and Düzce. We also expect heavy rainfall in Sakarya and the areas around Bursa, as well as in Yalova."
Urging citizens to be vigilant against flooding, Macit said, "Precipitation is moving eastward on Sunday. We are experiencing torrential downpours in the Eastern Black Sea region and northern Eastern Anatolia. We may see scattered snowfall in the higher elevations of the inland areas of the Eastern Black Sea region and in the northern parts of Eastern Anatolia. The rainy weather is leaving our country on Sunday, but we will be affected by the new rainy weather starting around noon on Monday. We expect the precipitation, which will begin in the Marmara and Northern Aegean regions on Monday, to be seen as intermittent rain and showers across the country on Tuesday and Wednesday."
"We expect temperatures to decrease from mid-week, reaching seasonal normals and reaching underground temperatures."Macit also commented on the expected weather forecasts for the three metropolitan cities:
We expect temperatures across the country to hover 2 to 4 degrees above seasonal norms over the weekend and into the first days of next week. We expect temperatures to decrease from midweek, falling back to seasonal norms and below ground. To summarize the three major cities, we may see heavy rain in Istanbul on Friday evening. The rain continues on Saturday, will take a break on Sunday, and we expect torrential downpours again on Monday evening. Temperatures will be around 22 to 24 degrees. We expect moderate showers in Ankara on Saturday. We don't expect precipitation on Sunday or Monday. The temperature is 19 degrees on Saturday, but we expect it to reach 23 degrees on Monday. We also have showers in Izmir on Saturday. They take a break on Sunday, and we enter a period of torrential downpours again starting Monday afternoon. The temperature will be around 24 to 26 degrees in Izmir.
